John Ahern is a General Securities Principal and Senior Vice President of Compass Capital Corporation, a Registered Investment Advisory firm and President of Compass Securities Corporation, a FINRA Broker-Dealer. He is the President of Loper Associates, Inc., a real estate management company.

John completed his undergraduate education at the United States Military Academy where he received his commission in the United States Marine Corps. He served in the USMC for five years, including service in Vietnam. He has a Masters in Business Administration and a Masters in Manufacturing Engineering, both from Boston University. After military service, John managed one of General Electric's manufacturing programs in the aircraft engine business and was a Plant Superintendent for Litton Industries. He was also a Plant Manager and General Manager for the Valtec Corporation, a pioneering company in the field of fiber optics.

John has helped change Compass from a retail Broker-Dealer to one whose sole focus is on institutional clients. Compass represents both traditional investment managers as well as alternative investment managers. Compass' growth has been based on the quality of the people it hires. Compass, although still a small company, has a national representation.

John and his wife Andrea have been long time residents of Shrewsbury, Massachusetts. He continues to bring a strong sense of integrity and commitment to both his investment advisory clients, and to the representatives of Compass Securities Corporation.
